The Ghost of Lehman
One Summer evening in 2006, heading home past 49th and Broadway I had no sense of premonition as I stopped to photograph the facade of Lehman Brothers, reflected in the glass frontage of 750 Broadway opposite. "The great boom of the late [2000's] was seething and swelling", but it took another 2 years before Lehman's staff were streaming out of the building with the contents of their desks in cardboard boxes. A week later Barclays' ugly blue colours replaced the $1million per year lightshow that used to project Lehman's hutzpah.
